Dott Cornwall collaborated with University College Falmouth students and graduates to create an exhibition stand to showcase the talent of the 3D Design and Spatial Design Courses.
Using the popular 'view master' technology to look at 3D images, Falmouth's stand created its own main attraction and an intelligent and intriguing way to view the students work. As the size of the space was limited it had to be identified that not all work would fit into the space, so 3D photography provided a perfect solution, especially as it gave a unique experience to those viewing the work.
The stand had to be unique, reflecting Falmouth's relaxed but hard-working attitude through their use of up-to-date technology. It was important to challenge the belief that Cornwall is seen only as a holiday destination rather than a region that offers much more. This was agreed to be a hard task; battling with the numbers of people coming through the walk way between the exhibition, especially as Falmouth's Stand was next to 'One Year On', one of the main attractions to the show.
Students and graduates from University College Falmouth working alongside Dott Cornwall created an exhibition stand more than fit to win this year’s 'Best Stand Award'. The stand took you on a unique experience of viewing Falmouth's freshly graduated talent from the courses 3D Design and Spatial Design. You could literally 'spin' your way through each students work using the custom made viewfinders and get a feel for Cornwall in London...
DOTT Cornwall organised a workshop day at UCF to get 3D Design and Spatial Design students working together collating ideas of how to win. Several inspiring and wonderful concepts emerged and a team of students were given the chance to develop these ideas.
