From Cornwall with Love was a project that sought radical and inventive ways to promote the values of Cornwall through its produce and products.
The project worked with local producers and existing initiatives, such as Made in Cornwall, Hidden Art Cornwall and Taste of the Southwest, to use design to help push quality Cornish produce into the local and global spotlight. From Cornwall with Love focused on both products by local designers and makers as well as food produce, seeking to increase their availability and visibility. By establishing a link between the future brand and aspirations of the county, From Cornwall with Love helped to stimulate growth in the dynamic businesses that underpin Cornwall’s future economy.
The Mirrored Dinner was not only a success due to the awareness raising and networking opportunities. We also achieved a tangible result – A 'From Cornwall With Love' Hamper, sold mail order through Forman & Field!
The FCWL team facilitated a co-design workshop to discuss potential solutions to the key challenges highlighted by the project so far. The key challenges:
Consistency - How do we demonstrate the unique aspects and quality of Cornish produce and products as a consistent message of quality?
Presentation and Visibility - How can we build on the skills and tools needed by small companies to move forward and punch above their weight?
Convenience and Availability - How can consumers get access to the quality produce and products from Cornwall?
Tourist Stickiness - How can Cornish businesses retain some of the extra business that the summer season brings?
Community - How can a disparate community be more, or appear to be more cohesive?
FCWL hosted a co-design workshop at Krowji on Tuesday 20th July. Over four months we worked with Cornish producers, makers, designers, and those representing the food, craft and product sectors. Together we identified and documented the main challenges faced when promoting Cornish products and produce from an individual to an international level.
The workshop was a chance to reflect on and refine this list. We assessed what is already ongoing to help tackle these issues and suggest new, exciting ways to continue and develop this work. .

"Thought it was a fantastic evening of inspired debate which highlighted a lot of the differences and similarities of values and opinions in (and outside of) Cornwall. Nice one guys." Nick Raven, Two Design
